In the fall of 2013, a handful of folks from North Raleigh had been driving to Durham twice a month to sit in with a uke group hosted by High Strung Violins and Guitars music store. The commuters thought (or hoped) they could find enough people in Raleigh to start a club here.
They were right. The North Raleigh Uke Jam soon began. Within a couple of years, so many people were coming from all over Raleigh and the surrounding towns and hamlets that we became just the plain old Raleigh Uke Jam.
We’ll tell the history of how it started and how we got here in a future post. For now, here’s a link to the original blog David Simpson and his daughter Juliet put together at the founding.
