We're in demand! A new audience to entertain in July!
Plus, an early alert on the June 16 Night Market and get ready for Make Music Day
The folks at Woodland Terrace, an assisted living community in Cary, have asked us to perform, and we shall!
We’ll play from 1 to 2 p.m., Monday, July 25. I’ll share more details closer to the event, but for now, mark your calendars. For one thing, everyone will need to arrive early to pass a few COVID protocols and set up. So stay tuned!
Night Market, maybe
We’re set to play Thursday, June 16, 7 to 9 p.m., at the Raleigh Night Market in Moore Square Park … weather permitting (again). As of today (June 8), the forecast is dicey. Forty percent chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. But, as you know, forecasts change.
As with our earlier failed attempt to play in May, if there’s rain in the forecast, or the temperatures are unbearable, we’ll hold our regular jam at the church at that time. I hope I can make a decision earlier than I did last time, both for your sake and as a courtesy to our hosts. But you never know.
Make Music Day, definitely
Tuesday, June 21, 7 to 9 p.m., at Pelagic Beer and Wine Company, we’ll have a Pelagic Jam on the solstice as part of the worldwide Make Music Day celebration! We’re listed on the group’s website (as one of the “other cities,” since Raleigh local officials dropped the ball … grrr … so we’re the only game in town!) with a link to our homepage.
Treat this as you would any other jam at Pelagic. I’m checking with the sponsors to see if there’s a Make Music Day anthem or theme song that all/most groups play. If there isn’t, we’ll have to designate one. Maybe we can we can be the trendsetters.
I doubt this will be the MMD anthem, but hey, we’ll play it at Pelagic anyway.
Open Mic, of course
Get yer songs ready. Open Mic Night is Thursday, June 30, 7 p.m. (sound familiar?) at the church. You know the drill. If you have a song or two or three you’d like to perform, put your best foot forward. Collaborations welcome, of course, but make sure you check with potential collaborators beforehand. If you aren’t sure about playing or would rather enjoy our fine performances, come by to be part of the audience. See you then!
